It's
not always easy to get people to pay attention to art. In addition
to the time spent "packaging' a show, a lot of effort goes
into publicizing it. What to emphasize, what to ignore, what can
you say about your work that would make it newsworthy to the group
of people on the edge of becoming art-lovers? To the insiders, it
also affords an opportunity to talk about issues somewhat tangential
to painting, although not to being a painter. |
